Fandom: The Lord of the Rings/Tolkien Universe
Characters/Pairings: Celebrimbor
Summary: A captured Celebrimbor is tortured for information, but remains defiant.
Notes: This is written assuming one-sided love for Galadriel, as mentioned in one of the stories in Unfinished Tales and with the assumption that he played a part in the First Kinslaying and pretty much regretted/hated everything that came of the whole mess.
Warnings: Graphic violence, explicit torture. It's not a pleasant story.
( Until, at last, the screams stopped. )

Summary: The Doctor introduces Galadriel to the TARDIS
"And here she is." The Doctor held open the door to the TARDIS, watching Galadriel's face as she entered. She was different, this one- and he didn't just mean not human. She was perceptive, even without taking her abilities into account. He was curious to see what she would make of the Old Girl- and what the TARDIS would make of her.
The mechanical aspects of the TARDIS were beyond Galadriel, of course. It was only relatively recently that she had been introduced to things as simple of electricity, after all. But as he watched her, the Doctor realized that she was seeing something more than wires and buttons and knobs. She knew- with gifts such as hers, how could she not? She was seeing the TARDIS for what she was: something beyond understanding, beautiful in its complexities- an entity, and a soul in its own right.
The old elf ran her fingers lightly over the console. Her touch was delicate, almost tender. Her brow furrowed, as though she were listening intently to some voice, unheard by most. Finally, she smiled and looks up, having come to whatever conclusion she was seeking.
"You might have told me."
A large grin crept onto the Doctor's face: proud, gleeful, and mischievous all at once. "Oh, but I love surprises, don't you?"
Even she couldn't argue with that.

Summary: Galadriel, Celeborn, and Elrond and co. ride back from the Grey Havens after Celebrían's departure.
They rode back from the Grey Havens in near silence, none of them knowing quite what to say. The sound of hoof-beats traveled with them, the gentle rhythm a backdrop to their thoughts, worries, and regrets. But no words were spoken until they came, at last, to Rivendell.
All dismounted, but despite Elrond's protests, Galadriel and Celeborn would stay no longer than was necessary to refresh their retinue and their horses. A solemn mood hung over the group and even their small talk was muted, tinged with sorrow and weighted with the words they did not yet have the heart to say. It was almost a relief when the Lord and Lady finally took their leave.
When each grandchild was embraced and Galadriel had pressed a kiss to each forehead, the two came to Elrond. Celeborn simply took his hand in his own and, with a silent nod of parting, returned to the horses.
But Galadriel lingered. Ordinarily, words came to her so easily. They were a tool, a plaything, something to mold and sculpt as she wished. Yet now, now when they were most important, none would come. What could she say to this man- the father of her grandchildren, her daughter's beloved, he who now must suffer just as she was suffering? Nothing would suffice. Suddenly, almost impulsively, she pulls him into her arms and embraces him, just as she would if he were her own child- something she had never done before and would do but once more thereafter.
"Take care- for her sake." And with that, she pulled back and returned to her husband's side, mounting her horse before Elrond could even process what had just occurred.

Summary: After the fall of Doriath, Celeborn and Galadriel deal with the trauma and share a moment of vulnerability. ETA: Belatedly, I realize that Galadriel and Celeborn must have left Doriath before its fall, thus rendering this entire piece a mild AU. OH WELL, I still like it.
